My Photos
"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good
photographs." ~
Ansel Adams My dad was an excellent photographer and sparked my interest in the art. I became serious about it during my first assignment to Turkiye in 1984. I had three Army photographers as part of my staff and, in order to supervise them effectively, I had them teach me. Before long I was out taking roll-after-roll of ruins, friends, and the sights around Turkiye. I was in the darkroom almost every weekend, helping with projects, practicing different techniques, and, I'm sure, getting in the way. I read everything I could get my hands on and practiced what I read. Kim bought me my first digital camera while I was in Kosovo. I had her ship my Computer over and I used what time I had to myself learning Photoshop. Not long ago I gave away all my darkroom kit and have gone almost completely digital. Here are a few of my favorite photos. Erica My Brother Rat, Erica '04 and her dogs, taken out behind the Superintendent's quarters, Fall 2008.
